It is extremely important that you run a Corrections page on your web site. You just can't correct an error in the story itself. Users who read the story before you corrected it probably won't return to the story and even if they do, they may not recognize the correction. This is especially important if an error is potentially libelous. You can also use the online Corrections page to correct errors in the print edition that wouldn't be corrected until the next edition. Be sure to post the URL for the Corrections page in your print edition and throughout your site.
