Following are descriptions of the categories used in Cyber Weekly Consulting's Weekly Newspaper Reviews. A "check mark" in a review category indicates the site offers one or more of these features in that category. A blank space indicates the site does not include any of these features in that category.

• SALES -- Site Design, Banner Ads, Tile Ads, Affiliate Programs, Coupons, Online ordering of Print and/or Online Subscriptions, Internet Access, Merchandise (shirts, caps, etc).
• CLASSIFIEDS -- Online classifieds, print edition classifieds online, or both.
• UTILITY -- Site includes useful applications such as searches, databases, and e-mail subscriptions for site updates.
• INTERACTIVITY -- Allows Reader participation through Chats, Forums and online submission of Letters, Press Releases, Announcements, Scores, etc.
• NEWS -- News, Op-Ed, Columns, Feature Stories, Entertainment, Sports.
• DIRECTORIES -- Reference material for local information such as Municipalities, Schools, Demographics, Laws, etc.
• PHOTOS -- Color or Black & White photos or both, Web Cams.
• EXCLUSIVES -- Features not available in the print edition.
• SUPPLEMENTS -- Special sections such as "Best Of", Annual Manuals, Bridal Guides, Visitor's Guides, etc.
• HOT SITES -- A "Hot" button means a site does a lot of things well. A lot of check marks don't necessarily make a site hot -- an outstanding effort in many of the categories does.
